Two-factor authentication
Freosan Studios offers optional two-factor authentication to help secure your account.
Why should I use two-factor authentication?
It works by requiring you to provide a code generated by an authentication device, which if successful, verifies that not only do you know the password to log into your account, but you also have a device associated with you. It ensures that if a bad actor steals your password but not your authentication device, they won't be able to access your account.
How do I use my authentication device?
When you log in, enter your username and password as normal. The exact screen you'll see differs depending on if you're logging in to a Freosan Studios website or MediaWiki, but the principle is the same.
Next, log into your authentication device. Remember which app you used to link your account, and open that app. Find the entry associated with the service you're logging in to. (Check for names like "Australian Enthusiasts Wiki", or "Freosan Studios".) The app will present you a code; this code must be entered into the login page to continue.
I've lost access to my authentication device and recovery codes, how do I recover my account?
Unfortunately, the only pathway to recover your account if you've lost both of those is to contact us. We may ask for evidence that you are who you say you are, although we will for not ask nor will we be able to unlock your account based on confidential information such as passwords.
