Service announcements/MediaWiki 1.43 update

We have recently updated to the latest major release of MediaWiki, 1.43. Below are important issues you should be aware of that we have identified.

Editing issues

Various useful editing features such as Special:RecentChanges filters and the wiki editor toolbar were not working until today (10 February 2025) due to a fault in our caching system. Note that your browser may not have cached fixed code; follow your browser's instructions to clear it as necessary.

Login issues

We are currently aware that logging in to wikis on our servers may be difficult or impossible due to a fault in an extension. We are currently working to fix the issue.

2FA issues

If you had two factor authentication enabled on any Freosan Studios wiki, you will need to set it up again. On the plus side, if you choose to use 2FA now, it will be set up on all wikis using the same secret and authentication device. There is no additional security penalty from this as all wikis run on the same hardware.

Mobile issues and fixes

The bug which causes offscreen content such as tables to not be scrollable has been fixed. However, we are aware of a visual glitch which may affect certain infoboxes and cause them to render improperly.
